Glyco-peeling
Derived from fruit acids, this alpha-hydroxy acid-based peeling is used to reduce age spots, control acne, improve complexion and revitalize the skin's appearance.

Guided Imagery/Visualization
Basics: Imagery is an inner representation of experience. According to Martin L. Rossman, co-founder of the Academy for Guided Imagery, "the internal process involved in worrying yourself sick and imaging yourself well are quite similar." Through the mental processes of association, guided imagery directly affects physiology and provides insight into one's emotional landscape.

Hakomi Therapy

A unique approach to personal growth wherein the body is used as a source of information about the unconscious mind, serving as a vehicle to contact those key memories and basic emotional attitudes that determine the overall quality of our daily experience.

Hellerwork
Named after its founder, Joseph Heller, Hellerwork is a series of eleven 90 minute sessions of deep tissue bodywork and movement education designed to realign the body and release chronic tension and stress. It is regarded as preventive rather than curative and reflects a holistic approach to health. Hellerwork is used to produce permanent change.

Holistic Health
A non-medical approach to the health of the whole person that combines physical and mental well being. This philosophy seeks to achieve balance by considering all the interwoven environmental, mental, physical and spiritual aspects. Holistic Spas focus on alternative healing methods.

Holistic Medicine
General term for various forms of alternative medicine that include: homeopathy, chelation therapy, clinical ecology, acupuncture, stress reduction, nutritional therapy and other alternative medicine methods.

Homeopathy
A system of medial practice that treats a disease by administering minute doses of a remedy that would in healthy persons produce symptoms of the disease treated. This principle is used to stimulate the body to cure itself.

Hot Plunge
Deep pool for the rapid expansion of the capillaries and loosing of bound muscle tissue.

Hot Spring
A source of water issuing from the ground that is above 37 degrees Celsius.

Hydrotherapy
Water therapies using jets and underwater massage for therapeutic purposes.
